Evolution of the pion distribution amplitude in next-to-leading order.

چکیده
The evolution of the pion distribution amplitude in next-to-leading order is studied for a fixed and a running coupling constant. In both cases, the evolution provides a logarithmic modification in the endpoint region. Assuming a simple parameterization of the distribution amplitude at a scale of Q0 ∼ 0.5 GeV, it is shown numerically that these effects are large enough at Q ∼ 2 GeV that they have to be taken into account in the next-to-leading-order analysis for exclusive processes. Alternatively, by introducing a new distribution amplitude that evolves more smoothly, this logarithmic modification can be included in the hard-scattering part of the considered process.

We apply the so-called conformal subtraction scheme to predict perturba-tively exclusive processes beyond the leading order. Taking into account evolution effects, we study the scheme dependence for the photon-to-pion transition form factor and the electromagnetic pion form factor at next-to-leading order for different pion distribution amplitudes. Relying on the con-formally covariant operator...

متن کاملPion light-cone wave function and pion distribution amplitude in the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model
∫ dk⊥Ψπ(x,~k⊥)k 2 ⊥ = 〈~k 2 ⊥〉 = −M〈ūu〉/f 2 π for the second moment of the pion light-cone wave function, where M is the constituent quark mass and fπ is the pion decay constant. After the QCD Gegenbauer evolution of the pion distribution amplitude good end-point behavior is recovered, and a satisfactory agreement with the analysis of the experimental data from CLEO is achieved. This allows us ...
متن کاملThe pion mass in finite volume
We determine the relative pion mass shift Mπ(L)/Mπ − 1 due to the finite spatial extent L of the box by means of two-flavor chiral perturbation theory and the one-particle Lüscher formula. We use as input the expression for the infinite volume ππ forward scattering amplitude up to next-to-next-to-leading order and can therefore control the convergence of the chiral series. A comparison to the f...
